KAQJAY (2006-////)
KAQJAY (2006-////) is dedicated to the work of Kaqjay Moloj, a Maya Kaqchikel collective composed of archaeologists, activists, anthropologists, historians, and inhabitants of the region. Since 2006, they have been running a community museum in the town of Patizcía, in Chimaltenango, Guatemala dedicated to local history, the memory of the Guatemalan genocide, and the questioning of modern notions of identity, subject, and state, in an effort to rethink traditional archaeology and its use in the consolidation of national hegemonies and narratives. Features contributions by FIEBRE Ediciones, Kaqjay Moloj, Eddy Tocón, Comunidad Kaqchikel de Investigación, Beatriz Cortez, Índice fotográfico, and Douglas Carranza Mena.
