• Summary

Earthly Delights is an anthology studying the phantasmagoria of plants, from government agricultural programs during wartime to popular film and music. Writing during the resurgence of interest in horticulture during the global pandemic, the contributors to the zine observe oddities about the way we perceive the world of plants in the form of short essays, artwork, poems, and more. They took to the streets, to plant shops, to city gardens, and to national archives. At each site, questions of inheritance, self-making, and nation building took root, germinating dual-headed monstrosities comprised of equal parts nightmare and fantasy. (Danielle Wu)
