one at a time
This book is a record of curator Jee Young Maeng’s project, 30 days from February 22 to March 27, 2021, her viewing the works of five artists for 20 hours per piece (4 hours per day) for a total of 720 hours. During the exhibition period, the gallery was transformed into an appreciation space just for the author, and each of the five artists' works was made available to view once a week for full appreciation. This project is an experiment by the author to ensure a full encounter with the work as a curator and appreciator and to secure time to understand the work, while also raising questions about the essential meaning of viewing the work (wess).
