Landscape Painting
A book on artist Sujin Lim's project, which consists of research, interviews, and painting performances conducted by the artist in Yeongheungdo, Incheon, her father's hometown, from 2018 to 2019. She heard stories about the island's scenery from her father, who was born and raised on the island. As seawalls, power plants, transmission towers, and bridges connecting the island to the mainland are being built, the mudflats surrounding the island are disappearing, and life on this island also changes. Installing a large canvas in front of the newly created landscapes, the artist redraws the landscapes that remain in her father's memory. The book contains records of images and conversations created during the process (Parking Page Press).
