A book published along with the exhibition of the same name. Custom Axis is an exhibition that attempts to extend the total time an action lasts by delaying the entry into immersion, under the common goal of ‘delaying immersion’. Pixels (paintings) as overlapping and obstructing screens, vectors (sculptures) as arrangements added to the virtual axis in space, and timelines (videos) involved in viewing time are shared within the space. Works of different material properties are formed on temporary walls installed along the axis of space, and different viewing conditions overlap. Reflecting the nature of this exhibition, this book mainly deals with the two-dimensional situation where works overlap in space, and was created to function as a framework by separating the introduction and information on individual works separately.
