Beyond Borders
"This piece explores the intersection between human rights and personal journeys. Specifically, it captures my family friend's journey from the Middle East to the U.S. His portrait is centered around a map of the United States which represents his resilience as well as his aspirations to immigrate to the United States. I wrote the text, “Protect Immigrants. Bridge Cultures, Build Futures,” as a reminder of the transformative impact of immigration on both individuals and societies. In this piece, I am advocating for inclusive communities where everyone’s contributions are valued and celebrated."–Hawa Elhamoudi
